Circumnavigating the Chiltern Hills via the Chiltern Way you’ll clock up nearly 200 miles, cross several county boundaries and require a backpack full of ordnance survey maps.

But pick a manageable section and you’ll definitely have a rewarding and interesting ramble through the Chilterns.

The Chiltern Way meanders through the heart of the Chilterns. Its much quieter than say the Ridgeway and more of a challenge to follow.

In winter sections of the Chiltern Way disappear where they have been ploughed over.

In summer some sections are very overgrown with brambles and nettles.

For all that its proper walking, very rewarding and a great way to see the Chilterns.
